Another long flight that takes us over Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and China - Macao then across the bay to Kong Kong. Hong Kong is where you stayed in the old days and Macao is where you played.

That is Thailand 20 miles ahead. Don't know if any of you where ever in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia or Nam.
Lampang Airport to the left with a 5823' runway and a VOR 114.7.
Phrae Airport with a 4921' runway and VOR 111.8 on right.
Airport off to the left is Nan with a 6562' rwy a strong VOR 115.7 and NDB 365
Next along the route is Xieng Khouang with a 4921' rwy and NDB 230.
Pretty high mountains ahead, climbing to 10000'
We are taking a delay duew to these mountains cutting 10 knots off our speed.
Just crossed Vietnams border, descending to 7500'. At this point we are crossing Nam at its narrowest point.
When we cross the border again we will be over the Bay of Tonkin, do you remember anything about this bay? Pueblo ring a bell?
We are just half way into our flight. Off to the left is a VOR labeled Hanoi, doesn't seem right as we are not near Hanoi. Anyway its freq. is 115.2.
That's the Bay of Tonkin to the right.
Caroi (Haiphong) NDB 274 with a rwy of 7874' right on the coast to the left. We will be following that coast all the way to Macao then Honk Kong.
Off to our left is Dayingshan Airport, the first we have contacted in China. It has a rwy of 8202' with an ILS of 109.5.
There are a ton of NDB's and VOR's near Macao and Hong Kong, I am not listing them all.
