KSEA Seattle  KS:LC Salt Lake City

Off at 0900, climbing to 7500', on a course of 103.  As we will be doing a lot of flying in the mountains expect lots of altitude changes.  We have our comfort and efficient operations in mind and will attempt to do as much flying at the 75--' level.  Our destination is Salt Lake City which will have the highest elevation for an airport that we have experienced  on this trip,  it is 4227'.  For this trip I am following the " Low Level Airways ".  Only 6 more landings to go!

7500' and level.

Mountains creeping up on us, climbing to 9500'.

Crossing into Oregon.

Letting back down to 7500'

Level at 7500

AH !  A little snow again.

Back up 9500' again.

Idaho border 25 miles ahead.

Just passed Baker City, OR.   Boise will be the next.

Something to think about well in advance.  Just looked at the MSA for Salt Lake City.  The area we will be flying through has 7700'.  A missed approach, you climb immediately to 5800'  then continue to 10.500'  stay on course to FFU Vortac 116.6 , its on your course of 165 deg.. Then vector yourself back around and do it over.

Boise 26 miles ahead.

200 miles to go.

Utah border off to the right, be crossing it shortly.  Wow! look at those mountains, we have to get up to 10500'.  Get on the oxygen!

Back down to 9500'
