By the way, while in Chimacum International Airport this summer, a fella
showed me his SR-22 cirrus.  I was impressed.  That is a nice plane.  A few
days ago there was a article in the newspaper about a pilot in Dallas that
went down using the parachute on the SR-22 and both came out undamaged.
That really impressed me now.

Von Sennet, 10-18, p0028r, C-54, 3.41, bgas001, klex-lsdf-kcvg-kind-kfwa-ksbn
ATC all sectors
at KFWA had to go around twice due to TWA connies taking too long to clear the runway (1st time) and a connie landing #1 when cleared for #2!

The bluegrass passenger enjoyed the northeastern Indiana scenery on the go-arounds.

Kevin Johnson, 10-03, Memphis-Lake Front, DC4, 2.61, bgas005, Lake Front is a great little airport to fly in and out of!  Downloaded the classic AI traffic from Tom Gibson's web site and added a few flight plans of my own.  Seeing Delta DC6's and CVs taxiing around really adds to the experience!

Kevin Johnson, 10-16, Lake Front -Tampa, DC4, 2.22, bgas005,

Kevin Johnson, 10-16, Tampa-Opa Laka, DC4, 1.63, bgas005,

Kevin Johnson, 10-17, KDIN-Bermuda, B314, 6.08, bgas005, Break out the charts and sextant, we're going to bermuda!

Kevin Johnson, 10-18, Miami-Bimini, goose, 0.95, bgas005, The clipper dropped me off in Bermuda and continued on to Lajes without me.  Caught a flight back to Miami as a passenger.  Thought I'd give the goose a try.  Took off from KDIN, but landed on the runway at Bimini!  Great visibilty out of the goose cockpit!

Kevin Johnson, 10-18, Bimini-Miami, goose, 0.84, bgas005, Coming to Miami at dusk provided some nice views!

Kevin Johnson, 10-18, KDIN-Nassau, PBY, 1.40, bgas005, Finally getting around to the Catalina jaunt!  Fun flight.

Kevin Johnson, 10-19, Nassau-Great Exuma, PBY, 1.33, bgas005, I was amazed at how real the island chain looked!

Kevin Johnson, 10-19, Great Exuma-Provo, PBY, 2.05, bgas005,

Kevin Johnson, 10-20, Provo-San Juan, PBY, 3.67, bgas005, Wasn't sure where the seaplane base was.  Found it when I flew over and the NDB spun around!  you guys did a great job, these flights are very enjoyable.

Kevin Johnson, 10-20, San Juan-St Thomas, DC4, 0.62, bgas005, Decided to leave the PBY for a bit and picked up a cargo run to St Thomas.  Decided to depart Dominicci rather than the big airport.  The buildings at the end of the runway made for an interesting departure!

Kevin Johnson, 10-20, St. Thomas - San Juan, DC4, 0.70, bgas005, departing St. Thomas, watched an American and a Delta DC6 go missed appraoch while I waited at the hold short.  There was a light rain, but the visibility was still 10 miles.  Wonder what their problem was?  Dodged some dark clouds going back to San Juan, but otherwise a nice trip, didn't even turn on the NAV radios, stayed VFR the whole way

Kevin Johnson, 10-26, San Juan - Bermuda, B377, 2.78, bgas005, Guess I'm easily side tracked or maybe inspired by an article I read on flightsim.com.  Decided to leave the PBY in San Juan for a while and start an around-the-world-trip.  Lots of people doing it in jets.  Think I'll use a variety of propliners, although I want to stick mainly to DC6 and L1049. See you next month.

Jon Carlson, 10-29, Pilot Retrieval, Travel Air 2000, 1.96, bgas012, When one of our pilots became suddenly ill at Corpus Christi, the nearest replacement pilot was just outside Dilley. Even though I was on vacation Bluegrass officials knew I'd be at Carrizo Springs Airfield with my Travel Air, just a short hop from Dilley Field. An hour and twenty minutes after a quick stop in Dilley the passengers at Corpus Christi had a new pilot and were on their way. I will be presenting my fuel bill to our accountants.
