We have Tom Goodrick to thank
for this month’s Hop List which is a tour of the Mississippi from source
to sea. When I was wondering what route to develop, I came across a
printout of this trip amongst my papers.
The route was developed by Tom
some five years ago for a spring flight, using airfields over
2,200ft, which would allow intrepid aviators to try out his landing
speed gauge. If you have used Tom’s timer for the GAAR or other events
you will appreciate just how much having a gauge to measure your landing
performance can concentrate the mind.
The flights set off from Bemidji-Beltrami Co in
Minnesota and end at New Orleans Lakefront down on the Gulf coast.
