Wheeler Airlines
Originally founded in 1976, Wheeler
Airlines developed from charter operations founded by Warren Wheeler. Warren
was the first African American hired as a pilot by Piedmont Airlines and was
not only the first but was also throughout the ‘70s and mid ‘80s the only
African American owner of an airline.
