John Lawler gaar017 noticed an error in the official scores thru Sector 8.

 

They have been corrected.  I was adding the times for sector 7 twice and ignoring the sector 8 time.

It is apparent that not every pilot can fly a sector and report the time within a 48 hour "window"

 

As a result I will not be posting the results as stated in the rules, but delaying the posting approximately 24 hours.

 

If you are one of the pilots who were de-activated, please continue to submit flight reports, and as time permits I will try to get you back into the roster.

 

This is supposed to be a fun event and I'm sorry if seem over-stressed some times.

I'm extending the deadline for Sector 5 and Sector 6 until 6pm EST on Saturday February 11th.  Thats 2300 gmt time.  
 
I don't understand why so many pilots can't get there reports in on time.   If they aren't here by the new deadline, you are out of the rally.  
 
 
I have several pilots submitting two reports for sector 5, and with different times.  I could understand if the newest reports said "correction" but thats not the case.  
 
Perhaps you are reporting sectors 5 and 6 but marking them both as 5.  
 
If so, resubmit your sector 6 time with 6 in the sector field.  
 
 
When you submit reports look at the confirmation screen.  
 
If you dont see something like:  
 
,: 001, 5, DC-3, 45, comment  
 
Click "back"  then "refresh"  and try it again.

Next time you get the pilot report form on screen, click "Refresh"

 

Look over your reports on the Submitted page to make sure all fields are correct.

Please make sure that you enter the sector # correctly.  For sectors 1-9 it is a one digit number, For sectors 10-20 it is a two digit number.   

Here are the legal entries for sector #.   1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20

 

Some that I have intercepted before they got lost:    03, YPPF-YNHL

 

Without the correct sector# format, the report has a chance of being overlooked.  The correct sector # format will cause Outlook to put it into a special folder for each sector.

The results are on the roster page.  Scroll to the right.  I may change that soon, to keep from having to send all the roster information over and over.  When I do, there will be a “Results” Link on the main gaar 2006 page.

No one has been kicked out of the rally.  If you are missing one or more sector times, your listing has been moved to the bottom of the roster.   When you submit the reports you will be moved back up.  You will appear in the main part of the roster with the next update which happens every two days shortly after each sector is posted.

Feb 6, 2006    Bluegrass pilots, don’t report your gaar flights on the Bluegrass Flight Report form until you have completed the rally.

5 Pireps arrived too late to make the cut.

 

Any pilot whose information has been moved to the bottom of the roster can be re-instated by:

 

1. Submit reports for Sector 1 and Sector 2 by 23:59 GMT on February 4th.

 

2.  There is no 2

Version 3 of FTime is available for download from a link at the bottom left of the gaar 2006 main page.

This version fixes problems of a flight beginning before midnight and ending after midnight GMT.  It also overcomes FS9 errors which shift GMT time instead of local time. 

 

Thanks to Tom Goodrick for burning the midnight oil working on the fix.

I figured out that this is pilot # 051

Only two Twin Bonanza’s entered, and I have a report from 127

Elementary Mr Watson!

 

 

Several came through with bga pilot #'s.

 

Henceforth use your 3 digit gaar #    i.e.    001   thru 183

 

 

Several reports came through with 2 digit pilots #

 

We need 3 digits   i.e.    001  thru 183    Add the leading zero's

 

 

Some reports came through with the pilots name. 

 

I messed up on the rules and corrected them this morning.

Do not enter your name.

 

If the form your entering data into asks for your name, I'm confused.

A new download link has been added for FTime by Tom Goodrick.   This is a timer gauge that records time from the moment you exceed 35 knots on the takeoff roll, until you drop below 35 knots on the landing roll.

 

The flight must begin and end on the same calendar day in GMT time.

A few applications are arriving with a time other than as requested.

All times are to be numerical only without any decimal or alpha characters.

If your flight took 25 min and 45 seconds it should be submitted as the number 26

 

I have corrected the applications, but when the rally starts and I am getting  150 flight reports at a time it is important that these 3 fields be entered correctly

 

GAAR#            001      (three digit Pilot ID)   No alpha characters or spaces

 

Sector#           1          (just the #)  No alpha characters or spaces

 

Flight Time       26        (just the number of minutes)  No decimal or alpha characters.

Flight information files have been updated at 13:30 GMT Jan 06, 2006 to correct an error in Sector 11.

 

The correct distance and heading from GLA (Gladstone) to YBRK (Rockhamton) are 50 N. Miles and 296 Degrees.

The correct heading from YWOL (Wollongong) to SY (Sydney VOR 112.1) is 15 deg. not 358 deg.
