Eleven Bluegrass Pilots flew in the DC-3 World Rally sponsored by DC-3 Airways.

Hats off to Terry Howell bgad005 who finished in the eight position.

October 17th was the release date of TrainZ 2004, and several Bluegrass pilots have become hoggers. (slang for engineers)

You can track their activities on the forum  (topic BGX), and on the BGX division web-site.

We had over 6,000 visitors to the web-site in October.

Regarding flight reports:   The vast majority are being filed properly.  Occasionally a pilot will substitute an O (oh) instead of a 0 (zero) in his pilot ID or his time.  Not a major problem.  Some pilots are not clicking on the drop down box to select the division flown in and therefore the flight doesn’t get recognized as belong to a different division (unless I recognize the airport codes).  Remember to check the “Turbo” radio button if you’re flying a kerosene burner, and the “Air Mail” radio button if you flying something from the 20’s or early 30’s such as a Tri-Motor or Stinson.  Also make sure both buttons are unchecked if neither case applies.

Australian Division

Capt Rob Finn is busy working on the 2004 Great Aussie Air Race.

The Division Director position is still open.  Contact interim director, Bill Von Sennet to apply.

Feature of the Month

The feature this month will be the TWA Connie flights between Los Angeles and New York.

The web-page isn’t ready yet, but the FS2002 and FS2004 hangar pages have a link to download the aircraft, and an updated panel and aircraft.cfg

This will be the final historical feature this year, as December will be the Bush Pilot’s Division “Toughman Challenge”

Southern Division

The Southern Division is now “hub less”.   Pilots are not assigned to the Caribbean, South East, or Texas-Mexico Hubs.   The web pages remain and you can continue to fly the flights posted, but due to the fact that two hub captains are inactive and the third (me) is more concerned with other things, I felt it best to make the switch.
