Maritime Central Airways was founded in 1941 at
The initial fleet consisted of a Barclay-Grow
seaplane, a Fairchild 24 and a Boeing 247D. By 1946 the fleet had grown to one
DH-89a Rapide, four Lockheed Electra 10s, two Cessna T-50 Cranes and three
DC-3s. Services had expanded to
