Based in Warsaw, LOT was established in 1929, making it one of the
world's oldest airlines still in operation.
Prior to World War
II, LOT used Fokker VII, Junkers Ju 52/3m, Douglas DC-2 and Lockheed
aircraft. After World War II, LOT used predominantly Soviet
aircraft until recent times.
