Cleared the trees and found my passenger waiting at Price (LA07). Again, JUST cleared the trees on takeoff. Another "controlled stall" landing at home and this challenge is complete for me. Whew! don moore, 06-05-05, LLBG-LLHA, 57, bgad042, 172 Cessna, Departed Ben Gurion from runway 30.   Brakes off to taxi was 1147 local time.   Took off and climbed to 5500' for trip to Haifa via waypoints LLSD 1200, HRZ NDB 1204, NAT VOR 1213, Z15C 1232 followed by landing at Haifa on runway 16 with brakes on for parking at 1244.   A quiet flight of 57 minutes.

don moore, 06-05-05, 47AK-48AK, 51, bgad042, Cessna 172, To get out of this airfield in a 172 was going to be different and not altogether safe.   Being winter time had its own natural bonus in that there was an abundance of cold dense air.   By using 10 degree of flap and starting a run from clear level space at about 45 degrees to runway direction that intersected the runway centreline at a point that afforded some available overrun, I managed to gain a very good rolling start to the take off run.   By the end of 24 the aircraft was airborne at about 80 knots.   I turned onto heading of 310 degrees then 010 degrees and back to 270 degrees climbing all the while at not much above 50 knots.   I don't think there was too much space between the tree tops and the aircraft but at least I didn't clip any of them.   The turn onto 270 degrees brought me out over low lying country where turning to gain altitude was not a problem.   After this the trip was routine across snow covered mountains at 11,000'.   Descent to 48AK was steep but regular though the landing on 30 could have been better directionally.   Taxied to parking near 30 end of runway and put brakes on at 1133 local time.   Starting at brakes off 1042 at 47AK gave a total time for flight of 51 minutes.

don moore, 06-03-05, LVGZ-LLBG, 61, bgad042, Cessna 172, Third flight of this series flown fairly slowly at 3500' in VFR conditions.   A touch and go landing was made at Hatzor airport using a standard circuit pattern.   An uneventful flight terminating with a smooth landing at Ben Gurion airport.   From brakes off for taxi to brakes on for parking took a total of 61 minutes with a fuel burn of 7.51 gallons.

don moore, 06-02-05, 1U1-U54, 103 , bgad042, 172 Cessna, Flight 1U1 to U54.   Aircraft FS9 172 Cessna. Brakes off for take off 1457. As this flight comes under "challenge", I used what advantage I could for take off, i.e. runway overrun which gave a little extra for take off.   Using 10 degrees of flap the aircraft became airborne in time to turn onto 230 degrees and continue a straight line climb up the valley on the right for 5 minutes.   At that time I had sufficient altitude to execute a 180 degree turn to 050 degrees and continue the climb, passing overhead 1U1 and maintained  heading for another 5 minutes, turning again onto 230 degrees.   By 1520 I was again overhead 1U1 at 11,000' and engaged autopilot to set course for U54 and continue climb to FL 135. Oh! what rugged mountain terrain lay below!   Began descent about 10 miles from U54 and as there was also here a big valley I continued past the airfield in descent mode, did a turn onto reciprocal heading to return and make a smooth landing.   Happy to be safely back on ground.   Landed on 12ID instead of U54 due to visual difficulties with terrain. Braked off for take off 1457 lo al. Brakes on for parking 1640 local. Flight time 103 minutes.
