Very interesting route flown with respect (apart from a fast and very low pass down one of the taxiways at KDAA <g>). Don't think I've ever been cleared for so many class D airspaces in such a short length of time.

Norm Holman, 05-25-05, KEWR - EGLL, 840, bgad026, L049. Flew the latest Connie from Newark to London.  Had to stop at Gander for passengers, else we could have made it to at least Shannon. Enjoying the Flt Eng's panel and the whole aircrafts authenticity and it's well worth the 30 Meg download. Has TWA, KLM & PanAm versions.

Norm Holman, 05-26-05,  EHAM-LIRA-HEAZ, 680, bgad026, L049. Nice route flying KLM Connie from Amsterdam to Cairo via Rome. Sent:           Tuesday, May 31, 2005 8:35 AM

don moore, 05-31-05, NZMC-NZCH, 56, bgad042, Mooney Bravo, Departed out of Mount Cook on Runway 13, turned onto heading 141 down eastern side of lake, climbing enroute to waypoint Mt. Mary.   Changed heading to 055 degrees and continued climb to FL 120.   Remained at this altitude to Ashburton N.D.B. turning here on heading of 029 degrees for NZCH INTL airport.   Commenced descent just after passing AS N.D.B.   Requested straight in approach from NZCH tower for runway 02.   Landed at 1500 hours local and applied brakes on for parking at 1502.   There's plenty of mountains in New Zealand not good for forced landings.

don moore, 05-31-05, LLOF-LLET, 46, bgad042, Mooney Bravo, Starting at Arad, an airfield about 10 NM east of the southern end of the Dead Sea,   I climbed enroute to 6500' heading approx. 180 degrees, overflying ZFR VOR and Ovda airfield.   This airfield looks like 3 parallel black stripes on the desert floor with nothing else about, but I don't think the Israelis would advertise their doings even out here. All the way down to Elat (LLET) the dry desert country looks inhospitable and unforgiving.   Elat is a relief, being right at the water's edge at the top of the Gulf of Aqabah.   The flight time was 46 minutes in all and is the first of a planned series of 15 flights to take me around Israel ending in Jerusalem.

Bob Beckelhimer, 05-31-05, CYQX - KSYR, 308, bgan005, IL-14, Ilyushin IL-14 - I flew 1020 miles and used 1256.3 gals (87%) of the fuel. That was a full gross weight takeoff.  It looks like the a/c is good for about 950 miles with gross weight which is close to specs.  I flew at 15000 ft. on this flight.  It is a nice a/c to fly and I hope that one fellow is true to his word that he is going to do a repaint in BGA colors.  Now if we could get someone to do the Stratocruiser in BGA colors!

For all you ultralight fans, Harvey Field is a haven for ultralights/GA planes, and it has an asphault strip paralleled by a grass one. I landed on the grass strip 14R at Harvey. Harvey has small taxiways as well.

don moore, 05-28-05, NZCH-NZMC, 63, bgad042, Mooney Bravo, VFR Flight at FL 120.   Good departure from NZCH followed by enroute climb to cruise altitude.   Nice mountain terrain below.   At about 15 NM from NZMC turned onto a southerly heading and began descent for approach up the lake on a heading of 330 degrees to land on runway 31.   A kangaroo landing but managed to taxi to parking still intact.

don moore, 05-20-05, CYBA-CYRV, 55, bgad042, Mooney Bravo, A flight that was uneventful almost!    Climbing up a valley after take off to clear the mountain tops enroute to Revelstoke via Golden, the A/C settled down to about 189 kts, cruise at FL145.   Nice view of bright green and snowy mountains in the morning light. About 29 minutes into flight, the township of Golden appeared showing up quite clearly against the valley floor.   The destination, Revelstoke was now only a further 26 minutes away.   It is set on a finger of land on a lake shore and one may approach and descend down a valley from some 10 to 15 n miles out and on a heading of 225 degrees to 230 degrees. Revelstoke is an airfield set at a place of some geological or Biblical note!   The strip lies at the bottom of a dead end valley formed on one side by a mountain and on the other, and also at the end by a wall of lake water about 1000' above the runway.   Either Microsoft have goofed up here or it's a practice site of someone heading for the

Middle East some years ago! On first arriving at this place, one is apt to be overhead before the airfield becomes visible.   That's the easy part.   The tricky bit is when you make your approach to land and unless you are flying a submarine don't attempt to go-around.   I still have trouble landing here and I know what to expect.   Lucky again, parked A/C at 0841.

don moore, 05-20-05, CYXS-CYBA, 127, BGAD042, MOONEY BRAVO, Early morning flight. First attempt at takeoff aborted due to controls malfunctioning.   After returning to parking area and repairs a second and successful departure for BANFF was made some 15 minutes later.   Flight in claear skies at FL155,OAT -17 Deg.Cent. and GS 203Kts.   Scenery along a high river course flowing parallel with the spine of the "Rockies" held some magnificent views.   Beautiful from aloft but not the place to get lost in.   Descent into BANFF was carried out over an adjacent lake and just well for finding the short grass strip needed room to manouvre.   On the ground by 0840 local time.

don moore, 05-17-05, CBZ3-CYXS, 68, BGAD042, MOONEY BRAVO, A dawn departure from a fairly tight strip for the Mooney, takeoff flap recommended as well as any other advantage available.   A while after take off some isolated bodies of cumulus drifted by in purple livery.   At some fifteen miles from CYZY the lights of this township stood out strongly in the half light, particularly the green and white rotating beacon of the airfield.   Early morning mists in the valleys and the sun highlighting mountain peaks, all under the influence of a purple haze makes aerial viewing of the "Rockies" a delight.   I picked up the code for CYXS's NDB about 65 nm NW of PRINCE GEORGE.   On arrival I requested a straight in landing on runway 15, a distortion in fs9 on this approach has some of the river water standing vertically as like the solid river bank.   Nevertheless a smooth landing was accomplished and the parking brake applied some 68 minutes after take off.

don moore, 05-15-05, CYFS/CBL3, 92, bgad042, Mooney Bravo, Ft. Simpson to Ft. Nelson Dawn start to this flight was quite good, purplish tinge to the sky and ground objects in this early light.   Took off at 08 42 local time from runway 30.   Established enroute climb to 5500', cruise speed 184 knots.   Terrain still looks cold and univiting and "lakey", with not much vertical ground relief until approaching Fort Nelson.   Although flightplan was to land at CBL3, no runway was visible overhead at its location (might be under the snow), I diverted to and landed at CYYE about 6nm distant.

Take off from YARA on runway 30, aborted due to insufficient power setting.   Turned around and departed runway 12 with no further problems.   Sky clear with 1/4 moon.   Selected way points overflown successfully.   Arrival at destination was embarrassing with a wheels uplanding adjacent to airfield.   Strip lighting at YBLT made it very hard to locate the runway even after entering downwind leg.
