Jon Carlson, 09-30-05, lake - river, 22, bgas012, DH.82 on floats, Left client at Kioshkokwi Lake and had a beautiful flight to Mattawa landing on the Mattawa River near the Ottawa River. The old Moth works pretty good with floats.

Jon Carlson, 09-30-05, river - lake, 87, bgas012, DH.82 on floats, At Mattawa loaded up paying passenger and gear and proceeded to cruise around the lakes in the area. Finally landing on Kioshkokwi Lake to unload passenger and gear on rocky shore. Stayed long enough to enjoy some tea over a campfire.

Jon Carlson, 09-30-05, CPX4 - Mattawa, 79, bgas012, DH.82 on floats, Actually departed from Lake Nipissing just down the hill from the airport. Took paying passenger over to Mattawa (Ontario) landing on the Mattawa River near the Ottawa River. Good flight, excellent weather.

John Lawler, 09-30-05, UIII-UNKL, 179, bgad017, IL-14, Cloud - BKN or worse with a ceiling of 800'agl, and SCT underneath it, so it was IFR flightplan time. ATC had enough faith in me, or in holes in clouds, to give me an NDB approach to UNKL/11R, so I took it just to show that I had faith, too. It worked.

John Franco, 09-30-05, KBIX-KNBG, 65, BGAN011, C172SP, used FS Real Time for the 1st time for this flight. I ran into Fog and clouds on this flight. Theres a cloud texture program that I have that made the sky on this flight a peachy/lemon color due to the fog.

Norm Holman, 09-21-05, UHHH-UHWW, 85, bgad026, Ilyushin IL-14, Leg 13 of the Trans-Siberian. Norm Holman, 09-16-05, UIII-UIUU, 100, bgad026, Ilyushin IL-14, Leg 9 of the Trans-Siberian. The ADF power supply had burnt out and spares were only at Vladivostok or Moscow so we will continue VFR and follow the Circumbaikal Railway line. Departed Rwy 26 and saw the rail bridge to the left of the road bridge. Turned left at the rail bridge and followed the line through the town, then all the way to Alan Ude south of Lake Baikal. Next to the rail line are the road and the electricity pylons and they all criss-cross one another. Flew fairly low up the Selenga River and after passing the rail bridge, continued to the next two span bridge road bridge and found Mukhino runway on the right bank of the river.

Norm Holman, 09-16-05, UIUU-UIAA, 90, bgad026, Ilyushin IL-14, Leg 10 of the Trans-Siberian. Flew to the two span bridge over the Selenga River, picked up the railway again and followed it to Chita. (had to press CTRL-S and use top down view now and then, probably due to tunnels?)

Excellent landing using only a portion of the runway. Practice for TMC?? Can only stay for a day or two as I have to get down under where a Cessna is waiting for me to try the Tasmanian Tour. Pity, as we don't get too many nice days this late in the year.

Jon Carlson, 09-09-05, CES4 - CYWM, 39, bgas012, Waco biplane, My friend has kindly allowed me to fly his Waco to Athabasca (Alberta) to pick up my Tiger Moth. Good thing he can't see my face as I discover his Waco is a real handfull (very twitchy) compared to my Moth. Land on second pass in Athabasca. Whew.

Jon Carlson, 09-09-05, CYXD - CES4, 22, bgas012, AC 500, Ferrying a friends aircraft to Westlock and to meet with another flier who will allow me to test his Waco on my way to pick up my repainted Tiger Moth. Beautiful day for a flight.

Barry Kleiber, 09-08-05, PHNY-PHOG, 36, BGAN010, Lockheed L-10A, This short flight from Lanai City to Kahului, Maui was very exciting. Not only did I get to fly a classic L-10A (which atc kept calling an "L-1011". They must have been surprised!)but it should put me over the 100 hour mark with Bluegrass and earn my captain's wings. Wind 072@ 10, Vis 50mi. Strong crosswinds on landing at RW 2 put me a little far to the left of the runway, but a safe landing was made at 8:06 A.M.
