At the high altitudes of FAJS and HKJK, max onboard fuel for takeoff was 80%. Most of the Douglas Aircraft were notorious for their slow climbing ability @ 500fpm. Ceiling was FL19 to 23.

BOAC flew the same route with the Canadair Argonaut, however they went from Livingstone to Khartoum via Entebbe (HUEN).
