called Aluttiens supply runs. the weather and back course radial navigation
made it interesting with a 9Knt wind and 2000Ft. ceiling with snow squalls ,
one minutue clear the next white out. just at 800 on down wind when a squall
hit, turned base in a procedure turn held it till 240Deg.and came out of the
snow a little right of the RW due to the 9Knt cross wind.a lot of left wing low
and working the rudder petals and got the old ragwing cessna down ok.

night makes it easy to pick up other aircraft and towns below,stayed up till
picked up Idependence vor signal and popped the speed brakes and starded down,
crossed the bow at 1000 and broke left for left hand approuch, made a
succesfull trap taxied to elevator, folded wings, had only 36 gallons of fuel
left.

decided to fly down state a few miles were they have some army surplus cots in
the hanger were transient pilots can pull them up near a wood stove,beats

unloading at Bullen Point, the two men who set out the lanterns are heading
back after there TDY said they would have set the runway on fire if it mend us
getting in, the wallrus were starting to look good. alittle more day light but
just as turbulent,with a 20knt tail wind at 11500, landing a cross-wind but no
problems.

changed drastically as we got closer to Bullen point, it was dark,snow
squalls,very turbulent,and snow covered runway it all seemed to be one gray
horizon at times, took three passes at less than 500ft before finally some
personale showed with lanterns at each end of RW so we could get down.

try,had to land fuel down to less than 1/8 all tanks.turned on GPS made a long final with landing
light\\\\strobes out to cut fog glare down to 500ft and picked up the runway
light a little to the right.banked cut power and touched down.
