Our
Objective
To provide a fun event for
flight simulation pilots to compete with others from every corner of the
globe, and to test the flight and navigation skills of pilots during 23
flights re-creating the 1919 England to Australia Air Race. Welcome to
The England Australia Air Race
Centenary
We are joined again by WestWind Airlines in presenting this Centenary celebration of the first great Air Race from England to Australia in 1919.
We begin at Farnborough in
England and wend our way to Darwin in Australia, some 9,000-9,500 miles to
the South, depending on the route that you choose.
The total flight distance
is significantly greater than our past events, so we are providing several
different route variations to accomodate any
aircraft available in the various Flight Simulator versions or X-Plane.
The daily flights will be
spread out over the time period from September to December. We will be
allowing total flexibility in reporting dates up the end of December for all
flights.
Four sets of flights, sets
A to D, will be available covering the 23 legs. Flight sets A to C will cover the entire length of the route, while set D will select individual sectors from the A flights covering about half the full route length. John
Allard has kindly produced airport diagrams for the event in jpg
format. They are available for free download in a zipped bundle from
the Mutley's Hangar File library. The link to the new Mutley's
Hangar Airport Diagram Download Center is... Navigate to the bottom of the long listing of airport groupings and select the entry for the EARC 2019 which lists the airports and a further link to the download folder.
No one under 13 years of
age may participate without a parent or guardians
approval. Have them email me at gaar15director(at)gmail.com for special
