Update on the G.A.A.R. 2005

All pilots should send me an email when they complete the G.A.A.R. so that I can send them an Award Plaque.

Bluegrass pilots should send me an email if they quit flying the G.A.A.R. so that I can add any G.A.A.R. hours since March 31st to the roster.

WestCoastATC report

I’m not sure of the exact time frame for the report above, but it indicates that we have 20 pilots flying on WestCoastATC.  In our profile it says we have flown 292 hours and 2 minutes in May.

I may have extracted this information a little early (at 18:33 Z on May 31st) but I wanted to grab it before it disappeared.  I know that I have another 3 hours and 23 minutes for today.

Looking at the chart above, I see than none of our pilots have flown in an ATC session in May.   Well, as for me I never have.  But I can see this is an area that we can improve.  WestCoastATC has been a gracious host, the least we can do is show up for an atc session once in a while so their controllers have something to do.

There are some new things coming soon on WestCoastATC, including the ability of other pilots to see your aircraft in its Bluegrass Colors, as well as our ability to see other pilots in their correct liveries.

One thing that I haven’t been able to resolve is the fact that it is difficult to schedule multi-player flights and get more than a few pilots to show up.  We have pilots scattered from -0800Z to +1000Z and an 18 hour time difference doesn’t  help things.  We almost need a schedule that would have 2 different times for those from Alaska to Maine, another time for Europe to Africa and a fourth slot for those in Australia.

Several flights have been posted in our forum and no one showed up to join in the flights.  We had two Memorial Day flyovers and only two pilots showed up for them.  Now its your turn.  Go to the forum and suggest a flight and time and perhaps other pilots will find a way to fit it in their schedule.

Welcome to New Pilots

From the C.E.O.

I’m not sure how many visits we had in May.  We switched hosts during the month so the statistics are not complete.

Don’t forget to check out the forum and screen shot pages.

The summertime is usually the slow time for a Virtual Airline.  There are other things to take up your spare time.  So if the flight reports slow down a bit, we will understand.   Enjoy the good weather days and have fun with your family.

That’s all for now,

Bill Von Sennet
